Commercial Transaction Guidelines & Payment Safety

Understanding how commercial payments are structured is essential for establishing secure, legally sound relationships between buyers and manufacturers on Sports Junction.

Important Platform Scope Notice: Sports Junction is a business-to-business discovery, negotiation, and communication platform. Sports Junction does NOT process buyer-to-seller payments, hold funds in escrow, or act as a financial intermediary. All commercial contracts, proforma invoices, and payment disbursements are settled directly between the buyer and the verified supplier.

Standard Commercial Payment Methods in B2B Sports Sourcing

Because sports equipment procurement typically involves custom manufacturing, wholesale order volumes, and international container freight, standard commercial trade mechanisms are employed directly between contracting parties:

  • Telegraphic Transfer (T/T or Wire Transfer): Standard commercial practice typically involves a 30% advance deposit upon proforma invoice sign-off to initiate raw material procurement and production tooling, with the remaining 70% balance due upon inspection and bill of lading (B/L) issuance.
  • Letter of Credit (Irrevocable L/C at Sight): Highly recommended for large volume, international container-load orders. An irrevocable documentary credit issued by a premier commercial bank guarantees payment to the manufacturer upon presentation of compliant shipping documents.
  • Direct Bank Transfers (RTGS / NEFT): For domestic Indian transactions, direct inter-bank transfers using validated corporate account details matching the supplier's verified GST profile.

Payment Security Best Practices for Buyers

  1. Verify Corporate Banking Credentials: Ensure bank beneficiary account names match the registered corporate legal entity shown on the supplier's verified profile.
  2. Mandate Formal Proforma Invoices: Never disburse funds without a signed, stamped Proforma Invoice specifying complete bank details, GST/IEC codes, product specs, and delivery Incoterms.
  3. Require Prototype Approval First: For custom OEM designs, always request and physically approve a pre-production prototype sample before releasing full bulk manufacturing deposits.
  4. Report Suspicious Requests: If any party requests personal bank transfers, unverified third-party remittance, or off-book transactions, immediately report the conversation using the platform's report button.
